The Conference

The AusIMM is pleased to once again host the annual International Uranium Conference, which is entering its eighth year. This year’s event will be held in Darwin, Northern Territory at the Holiday Inn Esplanade Hotel on 11-12 June 2013.

The main focus of the formal program includes numerous technically-based presentations, which cover a wide variety of the topics from exploration, mining, geology, processing, production, health, safety, indigenous relations, environment and nuclear safeguards.

This year, tours will be held at Energy Resources Australia’s (ERA) Ranger Mine and the Northern Territory Government’s Rum Jungle Mine. Book early for these full-day tours as available seats always go fast and are limited.

In addition to the formal program and tours there will be a number of social functions, including the annual Conference Dinner, which this year will be held at the SkyCity Darwin Casino.

Recognising the importance of continuing public education and transparency, there will also be a Public Information Session held during the program. The Public Information Session continues to be free to give the wider public and delegates the opportunity to hear from experts that attend the event to address key industry and community concerns and explain how risks are managed and how best practice is applied.

To give all a chance to attend this worthwhile event The AusIMM are offering a discounted registration rate to citizens of developing countries.
