For some early career professionals, becoming a board member may seem like a long way down their career path, and for many more, not yet on their radar. Young board members have a lot to offer not-for-profit organisations, and many boards are now actively recruiting new professionals in order to diversify their ranks. Volunteering as a board member for a not-for-profit organisation can provide experience in the world of governance, while giving back to the community, along with numerous, transferable skills that will help you through your career. In this webinar, I will take you through the basic duties of a board member, associated benefits of the role, where to learn more about governance, and an action plan to take the first steps to start your board member journey.
