The AusIMM EEF offers funding for vacation
programs aimed at encouraging school leavers to study minerals related degrees at university.
To be eligible for funding, the program must be fully residential and
supervised. Students should visit mine sites, university laboratories and other
facilities, and have the opportunity to talk with graduates and industry
professionals about courses and careers in the minerals industry, working
conditions and prospects.
QMEA Engineering Camps also allow students to learn more about a career in engineering and what it is like to live in a mining community. They run camps in Mount Isa and Dysart .
For more information, or if your university would like run a similar program and would like funding, please complete the feedback form.
