The Eastern Australia Ground Control Group (EAGCG) was inaugurated at a ground control workshop held in Sydney on 28 May 2002, attended by 40 registrants from a broad spectrum of the mining industry.

EAGCG Membership is open to all persons who attend any of the EAGCG Workshops and to all persons interested in ground control in mining in Australasia. The main purpose of the EAGCG is to act as a forum for the discussion and dissemination of ground control information for Eastern Australian mines. Its work will complement that of the Ground Control Group (WA), which held its inaugural meeting in February 1999.
