The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (The
AusIMM) represents the interests of professionals associated in all facets of
the mining, exploration and minerals processing industries. With a focus on
'Enhancing Professional Excellence', The AusIMM has embarked upon an ongoing
program of professional development to ensure our continued relevance to our
members and the community.
The AusIMM represents and supports a 10,000-strong
membership base which is located in a network of Branches throughout the Asia
Pacific region, and with a growing international member base.
The AusIMM was formed in 1893 (incorporated by Royal
Charter in 1955) to advance science and engineering in the minerals industry,
and to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas to enhance the
professional excellence of its members.
Members are drawn from all sections of the industry:
private enterprise, government, research, education and the support sector,
including consultancies, manufacturers and suppliers.
